Founder Teresa Delfin talks about being named the most inspiring company in the outdoor industry with the Salt Lake City Tribune's Mike Gorrell:

Not one to shrink from a challenge, Teresa Delfin was appalled into action when she found out how little high-quality outdoor apparel was available for pregnant women.

So she set aside her Ph.D. in anthropology from Stanford for awhile and set about designing clothing that could be worn before and after birth by women who do the kinds of active things she likes to do — stuff like trekking the Inca Trail (twice), being crowned the Panamanian National Bouldering champion or hiking almost up until delivery.

The result was the creation of a company, Mountain Mama, that received one of four “Outdoor Inspiration Awards” presented at the 2011 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market trade show...."
