About Us

MOUNTAIN MAMA exists for a simple reason. Women who like to play outdoors should have stylish, functional clothing at all stages of life – including pregnancy.

Our mission is to combine innovative technical fabrics and design to create stylish clothing that women can wear comfortably on the trail and in town, through every stage of pregnancy ... and beyond!

But we're not just expanding the boundaries of technical apparel, we’re retooling the way business is done by bringing wilderness ethics and a mother’s touch to how we do things.

We try to keep our footprint small. Every garment is made in the U.S.A. Mountain Mama clothing is all constructed near our HQ at the foot of the San Gabriel Mountains in sunny Southern California. In fact, all our technical tops have a less than 20-mile footprint, from design to mill to manufacture.

We work with the best technical fabric mills to identify the ideal performance materials, because the first trimester is as physically demanding as mountaineering.

We believe in having the right gear. When we can’t find what we need, we go out and make it. Our proprietary EstiraTEC fabric, used in our technical tops, sets a new standard for rugged stretch and wicking performance.

We don’t accept the status quo. We’ve created innovative, versatile designs that accommodate your body’s changes during pregnancy—and then spring back as you do. Our aim is a maternity wardrobe you won’t feel the need to pile in the backyard and burn once the baby comes.

We cherish community. We support each other by embracing flexible schedules so we get time for bouldering comps, kayaking, fresh powder, cycling, a little SUP, and sunshine. We also sponsor cool events such as the Mountain Mama Road Bike Challenge and inspiring outdoor mamas such as Erica Lineberry.

We respect the planet. We eliminated commuting by creating a high-speed distributed office that lets our people work where they live. And we're committed to using recycled paper, vegetable-based inks, and other sustainable products whenever we can.
