As
Teresa’s partner and a lifelong outdoor athlete,
William Dolphin is the man behind the mama. After
surrendering much of his fleece to her during pregnancy,
he was the first to get behind Teresa’s idea
for a line of technical clothing for maternity.
And
what direct experience William may lack with motherhood,
he makes up for by donning technical apparel pretty
much every day.
A longtime bicycle racer, William grew up loose in the Indiana woods and spent his teen years backpacking through the Rockies and Alps.
But it was an epic encounter with a hypothermia-inducing hail storm while mountain biking the Colorado Trail that convinced him of the merits of having the right clothing.
A veteran of the bike industry—where he’s worked in retail, marketing and apparel manufacturing—he has lent his talents to Fortune 500 companies, grassroots advocacy groups, think tanks, and university faculties.
William still races bikes, and he still wears his first-generation Patagonia pile jacket.
